What did you guys do for Thanksgiving? What do you do for Christmas or whatever you celebrate?

Now that I'm in NY I'm a lot closer to family so we had a BIG Thanksgiving dinner with them and bf came with me. It was really nice and really exhausting lol. For Christmas it's just going to be me and the bf, we're probably going to see the family, but it's not going to be a big day. Christmas is my favorite holiday and I'm going to LOVE having a child to share it with once that happens. I want to spoil the shit out of them.

My wife and I spend a lot of our holiday time together just the two of us, or with my family. Her family pretty much hates me and they've told her she is always welcome to come alone but she always tells them that's not acceptable. So we just don't go. It's fine though, my family loves her and we have a good time on our own. I'm still loving having our own house and decorating it with her, it's great. I cleared away a lot of room for us to get a GIANT real tree for Christmas this year and I'm fucking excited.

I'm kind of in a similar position. My wife's parents don't hate me exactly but they think I'm causing this "phase" where she likes girls and won't get a husband like she should. (Just a phase, you know, despite being together this long and also being married for a few years, but, you know.) So my wife just says NOPE we're not seeing them for the holidays. We usually see my dad instead, sometimes my cousin, that's the extent of our family anymore lol. So most of the time we have a friendsmas or friendsgiving over a few days. We'll probably see my dad one night, and then the day after we'll have a big thing for whoever wants to come. We haven't actually done this in the new house yet! Mostly because of the drama with my mom but now we're finally settling down.

I LOVE decorating though. I feel like the only person in the house who does so I rope the other two into it and they put up with me. <3 I'm turning into that person who has a whole bunch of decorations for every occasion!

thanksgiving was spent with my dad and sister; the fiancé got sick day of and couldn't make it (didn't even manage to eat the leftovers i brought back the poor thing)

xmas will likely be more of the same, though hopefully with the hubs in tow this time. we have not started decorating yet due to how tired i've been from my commute but the tree is all ready for it (:
